The registered office is the legal and official address of an entity, which is registered with the local government registrar. Generally it will form part of the public record. All registered structures (IBC or otherwise) are legally required to have a registered office or address for service.
The address of a registered office must be located within the appropriate jurisdiction (or territory) and should be displayed on all official deeds, contracts and legal agreements. It must be an effective physical address to receive delivery of documents addressed to the company and where legal papers can be served.
